In August, I shared my first Spraypaint Love post, and at the time I didn’t know if I would share more simple updates like that.  But, due to the request to share more and the fact that life has been crazy and I really only have simple spraypaint updates as projects to share, I thought it was time.  I don’t know that Spraypaint Love will be posted on any sort of schedule, but more than likely it will be whenever I have something to share.

Remember the glassware from my thrift shopping in this post?

I couldn’t keep the green glassware for too long.  I also had some new spraypaint cans in my supply that I had bought on clearance at AC Moore.  I chose my $1.99 can of Rustoleum Soft Wheat for the first piece.

After a few quick thin coats, I had a new accent piece in my fall décor.

The green vase also got a spraypaint update.  For the vase, I used Rustoleum Ivory in gloss.  It was another $1.99 can that I had picked up at AC Moore.

I love how the spraypaint really makes the texture pop.  The vase hasn’t found a home yet, but keep reading and I’m sure it will show up somewhere in the house.

I won this cute little candleholder at a baby shower.  And, as soon as I got it, my Mom asked what color I would be making it….she knows me all too well!

I chose yellow, since I would be able to use it in a variety of locations in our house.  Yellow is such a cheery color.

And, last but not least.  There really is nothing safe from spraypaint around me.  I don’t have a before picture, probably because it was nothing special.  Picture a plain white post with a normal black mailbox.  We left it that way for several years, but the post was chipping and needed painted and the mailbox just didn’t fit with the rest of our house and property. I used regular exterior paint with a brush and roller for the mailbox post.  But, I removed the mailbox and the numbers  and used spraypaint to change the color and freshen up the look and then reattached them (the numbers have been edited for privacy).  I also spraypainted the screws so that they would blend right in too.  I used my drop cloth and 2×4’s in the backyard as my spraypaint station.  It worked like a charm.

If you decide to update your mailbox with spraypaint, just remember to move the flag up and down to get the flag and the area underneath it covered in both positions.  Or, you might choose to tape it off to keep the flag a different color.
